Uniquely Musical
Despite our professed preoccupation with diversity, individuality, and empowerment, we increasingly find ourselves surrounded by a hyper-competitive world wherein blind conformity and thoughtless imitation rob us of our true diversity. While the musical realm remains a universal refuge for our despondent souls, it too is rapidly becoming a staging ground, not unlike the Hunger Games, for our most impressionable youth to prove their worth. It goes without saying that I don't subscribe to this approach and refuse to treat music as a competitive sport.
In music we find the antidote to our modern affliction, and I’m committed to serving my role as a teacher accordingly. In my more than ten years of teaching experience, I have yet to encounter a student, regardless of age or musical proclivity, who lacked an offering for the sonic realm. The sole price of admission is genuine interest and commitment to one's self. The rest is within the teacher’s role to cultivate.
